Not sure, however you might want to search the forum. I do remember reading that you could. Good luck!!

Thanks for the reply. Been doing a lot of digging on the net. It looks like it's no problem. Just have to install a new wheel and program them in the PAC swi- rc module.

No it will not work , the controls talk to the radio thru the CAN bus communication protocol that is in later cars , I think this CAN bus communication started in late 2007 cars but I am not sure but I am sure that it is not in a 2005 car

It does not have the wiring between the radio and clockspring.... I have a 2006, I had to replace the radio, add the wiring between the radio and clockspring, replace the clockspring, replace the steering wheel with one that has controls, then I had to have the newer radio programmed... wasn't a hard job if you do your research and you have some skills, just time consuming. You can PM me if you need specifics.

I am all aftermarket for my stereo. Pioneer avic head unit. PAC steering wheel controls. When I bought the car, the stock head unit was gone. My car is a 07 with factory audio controls. No phone.

it is my understanding that it will not work as the 2006 harness is a different part number than the one for radio and bluetooth controls. the controls speak to the radio thru the CAN bus and I am not sure if a 2006 has this communication protocol , I will let the others tell us for sure

Hey Roadhog. Can you help me out? I've read this entire thread multiple times and find it very confusing. I see you have an '08 vette and have done exactly what I'd LIKE to do. I have an '07 with no radio controls. I'm planning on putting on a 2012 steering wheel with radio controls and I'd like to connect them to a Kenwood Head Unit.

I think most of the conversation on this thread is with people that have '05 and '06 vettes, which is more tricky. Aside from the new steering wheel assembly (which comes with the switch), I assume I'll have to buy a wiring harness from the switch to the clock spring and a new clock spring?

I'm not sure how to tap into the A6/A7 terminals, what kind of wire to buy, where to tap into the dimmer (I don't have heated seats, nor HUD), etc. Any photos?

Hi everyone,

I am new on the forum, I own a c6 Z06. I frequently come to take informations in here, the forum is very helpful for me. I dare to post a message because I have read this topic, and maybe due to my poor english (sorry for my langage mistakes) I don't understand very well so maybe some of you can make it clearer for me. I don't have steering wheel audio control on my z06 because it is a 2006 model, and I can understand that it is not so easy to do the upgrade. I understand that I have to buy few parts but maybe we could make a summary. I plan to place a new sony xav-ax1000.
- this is better to change the all steering wheel but this is possible to change only the hhr cover sitting (the color may be different but it can work?)
- I need to change the clock-spring, interface... But at the end could you summarize the parts that woks for sure ( I have read a lot but about but this is not clear for me if this work or not?)
- is there a step by step or a movie maybe?
Sorry if you feel repeating and thank you for your answer.
Dear corvette fans
Max
