I will take some more pictures with it off the car. Just keep in mind I'm no expert welder my stuff is pretty functional. The whole point of making them this way is you can't see any of that stuff, that's why its cool and this is my favorite design so far.
As far as heat, that did go through my mind. I can actually make them as far away as I want, but I want them to be tucked in out fo the way. The valve covers they are bolted directly to get pretty hot, and there is at least 6" of air between the header and coil.
If I post up too many pictures somebody like Ed will steal my idea and start making them pretty and make a fortune
I actually had the box idea as well. Lol would you believe you can get a meatloaf pan that covers them perfectly and is coated already for heat? You just cut one side off, roll the edges and you are good to go. However, right now I'm still perfecting the "open" version.
Valve covers are GM Performance Parts. $99 a piece.
So, we either need to get a vendor to use my design and make these for us, or I need to become a vendor. For the dozen or so that I would sell I don't think I can afford the monthy charge. Hmm... Let me ask some questions.
How about some pictures of those coil brackets. If you not going to sell them. Then let us see them.
You dug up a 3 year old thread to ask for pictures?
Aintqik, RJ, sold his vette long ago and doesn't own one anymore. He wasnt trying to sell them. He wasnt a forum vendor. He was hoping someone would run with the design to get the pricing down from the rediculous prices you see them being sold for.
I am working on something very similiar.
We have the prototypes made up, just need to test fit and have them modified afterwards.
They are 100% cnc aluminum.
We will be selling them. Probably do a wholesale thing though as right now I have no interest in becoming a vendor.
Hey sorry about the time line.I didn't even look at the date that the thread was started. And anyway I just wanted to see what they looked like.I am in the process of installing a 5.3 ls in an 1989 s10 pickup and just looking for some ideas for coil relocation.
