Default Tire Pressure

Hate to post a new thread for a stupid question.... I am getting a low tire light and car says 23 -24 pounds even when I air it up to 35 - 38 by guage. how do I reset ?

It should automatically update after awhile. Mine would update after a few minutes of idling/driving.

I do not think a reset is required. It may not update (statically) with the new tire psi until you drive the car. After a certain drive time, the DIC should update with the correct tire psi.

Your TPMS could be in the wrong locations.

The TPM sensors transmit tire pressure readings once every 60 seconds while the vehicle is being driven and once every 60 minutes when the vehicle is stationary for more than 15 minutes. Tire pressure is not available until the vehicle has reached a speed of 15 mph (24 km/h) or more.

Rely more on a quality, hand-held guage. Don't overfill your tires to 35-38 lbs. I run an extra lb or two in the front tires to help compensate for the cars 51/49 weight distribution ratio. 35-38 cold is way too high.
