Default Wrong tires ordered!!!

Today right before the shop closed, I ordered and paid for a set of Nitto Invo's. They had to order them and said they should have them within 24 hours.

I just noticed that the wrong size was ordered. I don't know if I told them the wrong size or if he wrote down the wrong size, but on the fronts the order is for 235/40R18's. It is suppose to be 245/40R18's.

Should I even bother getting it change, will it make a big difference, will the tire even fit? These things I just don't know.

Crap! I should have looked at the reciept closer before I left the shop.

They might hold me to it since they could say they were special order. Should I get crazy and demand???

Thanks for your help...

Not a big difference, but its the wrong size -- why go shorter and narrower than stock? I'd make it right, even if they make you eat $20 for shipping.

I would keep them. They are narrower so with less rolling resistance, your car is now even quicker.

Change them. The shorter sidewall will allow damage from the potholes and caverns in the roads to your wheels. It might pinch the sidewall and ruin the tire too.

I called the shop back this morning. They were very cool about it. Changed the tire order and all is good.

Thanks for all the information. I didn't think it was a good idea. I'm already going with non-run flats. Why change the size too?!

I'm after a quieter/sporty ride with the invos.

Yes it would have become a big deal at some point in time. The width would not have been as big of a concern as the height. Changing that throws off what the car sees as wheel speeds, and if heights are changed enough from stock can throw off things like ABS, Active Handling, and Traction Control.

Glad to see they are taking care of it for you.

Can you or anyone else tell me what you plan on doing in-case of a flat.. I am running Mickey Thompson Drag Radials on my car (rear) and bought 2 cans of "Fix a Flat" just in-case something should happen..

I wouldn't know what to do if i did get a flat with a C6 with NO SPARE ??

I also am looking for a GOOD 12 volt air compressor to keep in the car if someone knows of a "GOOD" one not a KMART $12.95 special that pumps for 30 min to get to 15 lb of air...

Tirerack conti-kit is a nice compact setup. Fits right behind the waterfall in my vert. Sensor safe goop and compressor. I carry a plug kit from Walmart and a set of pliers too since most repairs are plugs and easy to do and I don't like the goop except in a real emergency.

Be sure to contact Luke from Tirerack our Forum sponsor so he gets his commission on the sale.

Great Florida tires , especially in the rain. Just watch the colder weather until they heat up driving. Lost traction big time when it was 47 degrees the other day paddle shifting from 1st-2nd at 3K. I have driven them for 7K miles and love the Nittos. Great tire for the buck and love the tread pattern. You will love the quieter tire on the highway while getting 28MPG at 80 MPH.

Got the correct Nitto Invos installed on the car today. THEY ARE GREAT! I don't feel every bump in the road, my exaust sounds louder, road noise is down. Feels great in the curves. I haven't got a great run with them yet, but they seem to be very nice.

Thanks for all the help with the tires. Just another reason this is a great forum!!!
