More on DIY vs. EBay for jacking pucks;

EBay = $22.00 delivered for 4 assembled.

Parts ; 1/4X20 eyebolts = 99¢ to $1.49 ea + shipping. $3.96 to $5.96 (4)
"T" nuts; 12¢ ea = 48¢ (X4)+ shipping.

4 Eyebolts + 4 "T" nuts = $4.44 + shipping
PLUS around 4 hours of your time.

$22.00 seems like a bargain unless you value your time, lets say $6.00 total parts (low) from $22.00 purchase leaves $16.00 to apply for your time.

$4.00 an hour is LOW wages! I refuse to work that cheaply.

Dude. If it takes you 4 hours to do that, I hope you never try to install headers or change your spark plugs for that matter.

You're obviously welcome to choose whatever method you like. For me, I'm at HD or Lowe's already picking up fertilizer or some other crap. I get 4 eye bolts then. Same for a trip to Academy for some kids baseball cleats - I get four pucks then.

It takes me 5 minutes to drill a hole in each puck and screw in the eye bolts. A shorter time than it takes me to find the pucks online and order them. To each his own. I'm happy with my method, you're happy with yours.

I did my own header install on my '05. was quoted $450 by 2 different shops, did it myself on a friends lift in 5 hours. 5 hours vs. $450 is $90 an hour, my time is worth that. Also did my own ported intake manifold install. I don't do my own oil changes either, I buy oil and filter on sale and take it to Jiffy Lube, 20 some $$ is worth the time, effort and cleanup if I did it myself. I have the time and ability when it makes sense to do it myself.

Read my post above from 10:45 yesterday on the Guesstimate of time involved for DIY jacking pucks. With Austin traffic a drive to any store takes at least an hour for a round trip. EBay prices with shipping are probably cheaper by the time you add up driving and shopping time.

I'm cheap and proud of it, I'll always find the least expensive way (with parts and labor) to do a job.

Go to your local sporting goods store or hockey rink and get 4 pucks. Then go to the hardware store and get 4 #2 eye hooks and screw them into the center of the pucks. Your done for about six bucks.

Bought a set on the bay yesterday after reading this thread. Heavy duty, shipped $25. The clincher for me was at the bottom of the description the guy said "Thanks for looking and save the wave"

Must be the same seller I used. I bought the $13.95 instead of the $16.95. The difference seems to be the nut used to secure the Eyebolt, Loctite on yours and "adhesive" on mine. You should get fast service since it's an Illinois seller.

Probably the same. I'm in no hurry as the car is only 6 months old and I hope that I don't have to use them for quite a while. Yet, I think a good product to have, just in case of a flat.
For the price, this was a no-brainer.

No matter which ones you buy, I suggest not leaving them installed. There is ALWAYS a chance of one or more dropping out and they are gone forever. I leave mine in my rear cubby and they are always with the car ... at home, in a shop, or if needed on-the-road somewhere.
I bought from the large auction site and they were very cheap and I like the idea of hard rubber more than aluminum or hard plastic.
