Default Window trim....help!

Guys,

Every time I open or close the driver's door, the edge of the glass, at the very bottom rubs against the rubber trim (see picture). Sometimes it rubs pretty hard and I'm afraid this is going to eventually losen up the window bracketry inside the door. The window is indexing just fine.....I just need it to go down another 1/8" or move the trim out of the way.

How can I fix this?

I think I need a bigger picture to see it.

You may need new moldings. Sometimes the factory crap just doenst fit perfect. Ive had mine replaced due to some of the same issues.

If you remove the door panel and have the glass about half way up The door panel removeal will prevent you from adjustiung the height of the glass since the controls have to be disconnected for this proceddure), the glass has two bolts holding it in place and just loosen them one full turn and slide the glass back toward the back of the car about 1/4" and then retighten the bolts exactly the same amount.

Its best to use a black felt tip marker to make a mark from the center of the bolt to the top making an hour hand as on a clock. If you overtighten the bolt from where it needs to be it will break the glass.

If the window regulator design is the same as on the C5, there are access holes covered by tape which allow you to get to the bolts that hold the glass in place with the glass in the up position. The brackets are rubber lined, so you can tighten them enough to hold the glass in place without risking breaking the glass. The brackets are also slotted to allow for adjustment up and down, so you may want to mark the location of the glass along the outer door weatherstrip with masking tape.

Guys,

What would I need to do this? I know one of the tools is a fork looking thing in order to pry the plastic ribbets, correct?
I'm debating whether to have the dealer do this for me or do it myself. By the way, I am very mechanically inclined....I just have never removed a door panel before.

Thanks!

Rick
