I like the Precision Industries (Vigilante) torque converters but there other good ones out there.
For a blower LS3 car I would think something in the 3200-3500 stall range might be a good start?

You most certainly would not NEED a higher stall converter for just a blower but it can help.
Couple things to think about:
Weight of the car
Torque curve
Gear Ratio
Useage
Typically when going to an aftermarket converter we can cut weight which will reduce parasitic losses and increase RWHP.
Also you can increase the Torque multiplication factor, again giving you more response and a quicker car.
Then there is the stall speed itself. Raising this increases when the car is going to 'flash' stall and pull off the line. This will get you into your power band quicker for an over all faster car.
Only thing to think about is cooling, with a higher stall, comes increased slip and the chance of higher transmission temperatures.
We sell Vig. converters here and have always proven to be a quality item. Let me know if you need help deciding as there are a number of things to think about other than stall speed.
I have a yank and its seems to be pretty solid for the 200 miles Ive had it so far. for a blower you may want to go with a 3200 or a 3600. Ive also heard good things about vigilante by precision.
Does anybody make a 2800? I dont want to loose any trap speed
I've been using the Vigilante 2800 in my 08 for the past year without any problems. This rear was also previously installed in my 06 for about 4 months. Total milage on rear is about 20 thousand miles without any problems.

I would say a 2800 or 3200 would be a great choice for a converter.
I would buy NEW as I had my converter "regutted" 3 TIMES and all 3 times I had a problem with it. I then bought a NEW converter from another company and the high trans temps went away. It wasted 5 MONTHS of the 7 months that my car was at Next Level Performance. I am pissed at Vigilanti. Another lesson learned by me.
I have used Yank Torque Converters for 8 years and they always deliver. I my other car, the SS4000 has performed great and has tons of track use in the 1.5-1.6 range on 60fts. I would call Yank and they will help you in selecting the right converter for your application. The SS4000 only weighed 28lbs 8oz compared to the stock converter (55 lbs).
