Battery relocation kit?
Does anyone have any info I can use to relocate my battery to the rear? What battery fits and is there a kit? Any links would be appreciated.

You might want to check out a marine parts store for a battery case that will vent outside. Summit or Jegs may have one. I was thinking I would just run a cable through the passenger side rocker panel to reach the rear compartment sort of like STS runs their turbo system pipes.

He has a great setup, I've seen it myself. Nice and light and fits perfectly.
And it's a sealed battery which is important, you don't want to have the Hindenberg if some hot broad you pick up decides to fire up a Virginia Slim in your Vette and ignites the hydrogen from your rear mounted battery!
And not that this is important to you, but normally drag strips require a remote battery cutoff on the rear of the car when you relocate the battery to the same side of the firewall as you, but since the Vette has a rear mounted battery from the factory in the Z06 I've not heard of anyone having a problem.
One more thing, my buddy with the rear battery Z06 with the factory 2007 battery goes dead pretty quickly if he runs his fan (we have a remote fan switch) while the car is off...my car has a lot more battery capacity. So keep that in mind. Size does matter.

I just read those threads, and instead of asking there, i will ask here because its a fresher thread. If you have a C6 with a steel frame why is it nessecary to run two lines to the battery? why cant you avoid using the negitive cable by grounding the battery to the frame and the negitive terminal where the battery first was to the frame as well?

I'm looking at doing the same thing on my car. LG suggested that I use OEM cables for the C6 Z06 and said that the parts bolt right up; all the wire routing holes are right there in the C6...

Seems one would get a much better weight saving from a lightweight battery. The cables to run that distance probably weigh as much as a battery.

Actually, if you just need to run one cable to the battery (+) and can use the frame for the ground (near the rear of course) I think this would be a useful mod. One cable would only weigh around 5 lbs. I would only be interested in running the battery in the passenger side rear.
