You may also want to consider sabotage. I'm not familiar with the Viper exhaust system, but if it has an "X" pipe, you can use a potato to stop up half of the exhaust flow. It will run fine under part throttle, but will fall on it's face in the upper RPM range. Also, a bread wrapper covering up half to two thirds of the air filter will limit his HP. All's fair, 'specially when you're racing the old man. If he is running an offtype car, it's really open season.
No x pipe, it has crossovers and more bends than you would care to look at. Golf ball might work though!
May not help but only have 1/4 or less tank of gas , take out passenger seat. Get it light. Lower tire pressure. Talk it up just before the race , maybe he will feel the pressure and just burn the tires off.
Or
Just let him beat you bad and maybe he will get you some mod's for Christmas
I remember reading somewhere that the LS3's are putting down more like 390rwhp the LS2's are laying 375
I think you'll find, when comparing LS2's to 3's, the difference is pretty near the 30hp that GM claims. Some think it's a little more. I tend to agree with the folks that think that it's a little more.

Depends on the dyno but I know stock ls2s dont put down that much. Usually 355-360 rwhp for the ls2. I've seen ls3s hit the low 390's but I think the average is 375-385 rwhp!

Get a tune , and you'll lose - But not by as much as you may think .
My LS3 , with just a tune , kept up much better against an 05 SRT than I would have though , by 130 ( on the track ) he was only half a length ahead and he wasnt gaining .
