Don Schumacher will be very happy to hear this. The price of NITRO for the Army Dragster team has really gone up, good for sales.
Actually I bought a $30 dollar unit from Walmart with 3 charge levels, so I'm not so extravagant as you may have thought. Still, works great, gives a full charge and goes to float afterwards.
It should have been standard equipment with any 2005!
Maybe someone can enlighten me.. unless you are in Donald Trumps income bracket why spend $70 for something you can get for less than $30 if they both do the same job ??
In their defense, I don't know if my DieHard unit comes with a 10 year warranty. Meaning, the extra cost of others doesn't necessarily mean they're better, just that the cost reflects potential replacements. So they're getting something for the extra money.

Is this the Corvette forum? I thought I had stumbled onto the used Hyundai forum there for a minute.
I just ordred the CTEK battery tender unit as I do not have a garage and must leave my vette in the driveway under a car cover when I'm nor driving it Mon - Friday. I need a unit that is small that is easily intalled under the hood as I live on Long Island, New York. Can anyone comment their expierence using the CTEK ? Thanks
I'm using the Sears Diehard tender, $19.99. Comes with all the different quick connectors and works just as well as the higher priced units. My battery died 3 times the first year without it. No problems since.
I have this one also and appears to be a very good unit for the money, 3 different quick connectors (1 is the cigaratte lighter plug in, not sure how well this will work) and a float cycle after full charge.
I bought a brand new battery and hooked up the CTEK maintainer--about 3 months later I noticed the ctek going off and on--when to start the car--battery dead and a new one was replaced--took the CTEK to a 5lb. hammer--the hammer won--bought a BT plus--problems over-end of story
