I am considering either a head/cam or vortec supercharger upgrade and want to know if there is a way to keep the NPP while adding long tube headers (2009 LS3). I would like to keep the option of going "quiet" when I leave my house at 5:00am every morning.
When you install headers you must also purchase the matching mid pipes
Your stock exhaust is in four sections:
Cast iron manifolds
Catalytic converters
Mid pipes under the tunnel
Over the axle pipes and mufflers
When you install headers you must also purchase the matching mid pipes, with or without cats. This will replace your original cast iron manifolds, cats, and mid pipes and join up with your NPP over axle pipes just in front of the rear axle.
I have the NPP's with LG's long tube pro's and their catless midpipes. It's a simple bolt together setup. Sounds good and makes good power. I have the Mild2Wild controller. Can't sneak away from the house because my setup starts in the "wild" mode every time. You can quickly go to mild, but not instantly. With long tubes, cam, no cats, and the controller on wild, it's a little loud on start up. There might be options now that allow starting in the mild mode.

I have a 2006 on which I installed the 2008NPP exhaust. I also have the Wild-to-Mild with the same issue- it defaults to Wild mode at each startup. I was told to try a fuse that remains "hot" all the time. This setup does hold the flaps closed for a while but after a couple hours they do default to open again. On startup they do close again but I would prefer to have the exhaust default to the quiet mode. The other problem is that I have been told there is a current drain when on the "hot" fuse so that also concerns me. Anyone know of a better fix so I can default to quiet mode?
Unless you want to change the way your car sounds there is no real reason to change the mufflers. For instance if you swap them out to a set of high flowing Corsas, the power gains would be negliable at best but the sound is awesome, especially if you drop in a LG X3 camshaft into the engine
The npp in a box was not designed to be installed on a "HOT" fuse. They are designed to start in the open setting. I now off them with the option to select the startup mode. If you want yours to work like that email me

What is involved? I'm also interested in being able to start up in the mild mode. I'm sure others are too. I have the NPP in a box lite currently.
