Default End link question

I've been reading some posts about premature wear on sway bar end links. My car has developed a "knock" at the right rear when the car moves away from a dead stop and I was thinking this could be my problem. My question is: How can you determine that a link is bad? Thanx.

You could always pull the sway bar off, as long as you are not doing anything crazy.

My dealer replaced the back two end links on m 08 coupe and it still makes a popping or knocking noise at low speeds over bumps, driveways and parking lots. I checked the end link bolts, shock mount bolts and there are tight, but the popping is still there.

Check the front end links, I had some clunking/ popping at parking lot speeds over undulating pavement that sounded like it was coming from the middle of the car and it was the front end links.

shock bolts that are a little loose, maybe the sway bar bushings or the end links are the most common. possibly a tie rod end as well, front and rear has tie rod ends. good luck paul

lay down under the back of the car and grab the sway bar at one end and shake it...see if you can feel slop or hear the same clunk...then try the other end

I'm now curious to know if these link problems ever show up on any unmodified base/F55 suspension.

I never heard noises on my F55 till I swapped to Z51 sways. Maybe the base bars were soft enough to absorb the shock and the stiffer ones transmit it to the frame.

Just a thought.
