The postings for brakes that squeal refer to the Z51 package. I have a 2007 base suspension and after 10,000 miles it's as though I have a pig suck in my wheels. The dealer told me there is only a fix for the Z51 suspension. HELP

Take it out on a clear road and do some hard stops from the speed limit to 10 mph (repeat 5 times) to heat them up. But don't engage the ABS. That may be all you need to do.

I have followed steps 1-4 on my C5 with new rotors/pads and on my 08 when it was new. I have Z51 and my brakes have never made a sound.

Thanks for this link. I installed ceramic pads about 5K ago on my Z51 and they were bedded (I thought) by several stops from about 45 mph, and were quiet. But now I have one wheel that has developed a small squeel when cold which is annoying. I will give the Zeckhausen procedure a try.
