Default LS3 cam selection.

I am looking for an off the shelf cam that is streetable, rough idle, power range(1800-7000). You know ...the perfect street cam that will pull you out of a corner and run hard to the redline

My car is a 08LS3/6spd z51 with Z06 manifolds, cats/Hpipe and bi-mode mufflers. The only other thing I will add is a vararam intake. Gearing will not change either. I can add a few mods but not really interested in spending a ton of cash for a few extra HP.

What is the safe rev limit for the LS3?

Sorry searched for hours and only found a few suggestions. Whats the latest greatest?

Been looking around myself..But something a little more tame. I think you need to take a hard look at LG motorsports G6X3..Over 500hp and 400lb/ft at 3000rpm..Of course this was a header/CAI car. I don't remember where I got this graph, but take a look.
I found the page to the graph..http://lgmotorsports.com/gallery/dis...album=14&pos=2

I've got a custom comp cam in my LS3 with Z06 manifolds. It runs and sounds great and gained hp/tq everywhere.

Cam specs are 218/230 .563/.573 115 lsa (comp XE lobes)

It made 450 rwhp and 421 rwtq...My stock baseline, same dyno, was 372/374

Not to call out a vendor but I do find it strange how a company can produce almost 2-3x's as much added rwhp with a cam that is a little bit different than comparible ones. Just sounds strange.. Lingenfelter is 60rwhp behind them, so is Hennessey and they have deep pockets and tear ito vettes daily.. My cam, without headers\exhaust, intake, pulles, CAI, yadayada gave me about 35rwhp, add the headers\exhaust, 70ish. I just do not see how headers and cam can add 110rwhp. Maybe they have magic ina bottle, who knows..
Also never seen a 400rwhp vette out of the box either..

Lou and his crew have been tweaking vettes for a while. I know the G6X3 gets good reviews here from those that like a pretty wild cam.
As for the 400 out of the box, me neither..But I did put down 396/383 on a mustang dyno..Stock.

Your cam specs is very similar to a Lingenfelter GT 11 or a Cheater cam from Texas Speed, but they are mostly designed to be used with stock manifolds, which you kind of have, since you are using the Z06 manifolds, but nice gains.

The G6X3 has been on the list. Its a no brainer if it would get me near 500rwhp with an air intake and my ls7 full exhaust. It comes in around 3000? So I would still have my stock trq/hp numbers or better below the 3000 right.

Mine came in about 330-340 stock at 2800, the 1st graph I posted was just under 400 at 2800..That was with LG pro headers, which make the most torque down low.
Disclaimer:I don't work for LG, I don't even have anything LG on my car. I just know that they seem to make vettes run very well.

Here is what my car did with a 234/234 620/620 114. Good luck with your upgrade.

Default Same Boat

I'm kind of in the same boat I'm looking to put a cam in my 08 C6 with a Vararam air intake and I've heard so many different things some say the V-Ram is so strong it will suck up puddles of water and cause your engine to hydrolock, while many others recommend the halltech beehive no hydrolock but not the same amount of HP. In regard to the cams I cant pick between the 3 Lingenfelter, LG, or hennessey the last time I mentioned hennessey on here ppl started harping about how they part out your car and when your order things like cam sets you dont get all the parts required in the kit. Personally I have no idea from what I see LG is the most expensive, Ling has the pedigree, and Henn is unknown potential.

FWIW, I'm very happy with my cam selection.

Vengeance Racing has several to choose from as well that make excellent power.
