Brake Pads?

1. Are the brake pads for the Standard, F55 and Z51 all the same dimensions?
2.Are the pad composition the same for the F55 and Z51 the same?
I have a 2007 C6 with the F55 option and will be taking it to Mid Ohio later this spring.
I run R4 Porterfields on my 1986 944 Turbo which has cross dilled Zimmerman rotors with syn brake fluid. Great track set up.
I am planning to buy a set of R4 for the Vette for the one day of Mid Ohio - then taking them out and puting in a set or R4s for daily use.
Any input or suggestion would be appreciated.

1. Replace your rubber brake lines with stainless steel lines.
2. Replace your brake fluid with a high temp synthetic like Motul RBF 600 or equivalent.
3. Purchase a set of C5 Z06 pads from Gene Culley or another forum vendor. They are the exact dimensions as C6 pads and have a pad composition more suited for the track.
Yes, there are literally hundreds of pads by various vendors that work very well (Hawk, Carbotech, Cobalt etc.) but there is really no reason to do anything more than this if you are just going to do an occasional HPDE or track day. The C5 Z06 pads perform very well, are a great value and can be used on your daily driver.
If you do all of these things, you will have significantly improved braking performance for a reasonable cost. You'll feel the difference almost immediately.
