I called Ron at Vengance racing. He had me bring it over and his tuner guy thinks he found the problem. All 05 automatics need a software update for the traction control. Mine had never had it. Now I just need a cold morning to know for sure. They uploaded a few more goodies while I was there and she drives gRRREAT! Thier trans tune is the stuff. I will keep you all posted.

Not done yet. Several codes showed up and apparently all were related to BCM modules. I think the rep said they were all U codes. They were going to "reflash" the ECM - whatever that means.

I got it back today and so far so good (knock on wood). It'll take a couple of days driving before I'll be sure its fixed. I did tell them about the issues C6 drag racers have had with missing tire sensors causing similar problems. They said mine was throwing all kinds of BCM codes. So they "tightened all the grounds" and cleared the computer codes. They did not get any more specific than that so I'm assuming they tightened computer and computer module grounds under the dash or wherever the heck they are in the C6. I would think that would be an affordable trip to the dealer, but I didn't pay anything because I have an extended GM warranty. Usually they charge around $80 to scan it and then go from there. Sorry I didn't come up with any more specific info, but I hope this is of some help to the OP.

I had a similar problem. The dealer found an internal short in the EBCM and replaced it. Fixed. (was under extended warranty, luckily)

Good Luck

I’m having a very similar problem with my car and I think you may inadvertently helped me out by taking the time to post a followup (which I really appreciate by the way).

I just did a motor swap and have all three messages being displayed immediately when I turn the car on so when you mentioned the dealership tightening the grounds I immediately thought “Hmm, I wonder if that might also apply to me?” since there’s a ton of wiring in the engine compartment and it’s very possible that I may have missed something.

I haven’t had a chance to actually try it out yet but just having a possible cause to persue is nice, rather than checking all of the connections and being frustrated by not finding anything that wasn’t connected.

Thanks,
Christopher

I had a problem with mine where the message would come on every other day whenever it wants to. It turns out to be the bad steering column sensor and a bad speed sensor on the RF where the wiring got chewed up by the pulley. But I dont think that is the problem you are experiencing

Actually it could be either one of those (if not both) since I had to disconnect part of the front wiring harness and also had to recenter my steering wheel.
