Default We have it great here & I don't think we realize it

I've been sitting on the sideline of this thread and I think it's time to weigh in. The cost of a set of headers we are getting from the 3 major players is actually very cheap. When you start adding up all the R&D that goes into designing these products it is mind boggling. Imagine the time, effort and money that LG puts into designing their headers that produce a good mix of power/torque so they can win races and championships. We are lucky to be on the receiving end of all that work and technology. Can you imagine what General Motors would charge us for that?? Can you imagine how much this would cost us to buy in Europe? And they give us a warranty thats hard to beat as well as technical help. We are fortunate to have this available to us since we are such as small market.
We are in a world market so we can buy cheap knockoffs, but know them for what they are, cheap knockoffs with no warranty and unknown build quality. As long as the big 3 are paying for the R&D, warranty and tech service we should be prepared to pay more for their product. And it's a damn good one that's worth the extra coin.

It really depends. If you can purchase in bulk and get savings greater than your cost of financing, it may be worth it to carry more inventory, or to buy in larger quantity and use the cost savings to reduce price. I'm sure you know this, and my point is simply to address costs as posited by another post.

The bottom line is that each of the big 3 header firms has to decide on their production and pricing strategy. One thing for sure, competition will drive prices lower. IMO, the fact that LG came out with their Street series to serve those looking for a lower price point was the first crack in the ice.

Well I dont believe ANY header is worth 1500 dollars for what you are getting. You could buy a cam, parts, and installation of it for just about that price!

I'll be getting the cheap knockoffs dynod shortly after they are installed and will be going back to the track, so I'll be sure to post up performance outcomes of them.

I agree with the previous post that LG releasing their "street" series header was a great idea and now a less expensive option.

Let us know Shawn. You always have been upfront on the good, bad and ugly of C6 modding. Not to mention the too pricey vs good value for the buck. If you recall, we started long ago here with the "free air mod" vs pricey CAI's.
