I know several people have changed from the old MGW to the new style MGW shifter now - I'm thinking about doing the same thing myself.
I do have one question however regarding the feel of the new shifter - how is it on the 2-3 shift? I remember the stock shifter was always a pain on the 2-3 shift when you were going hard - the old MGW had such stiff centering springs that you just pushed forward with the palm of your hand and it slotted right into 3 without a problem. Does the new style MGW still do that as nicely as the old one? What other impressions do you have moving from the old one to the new one?
too much time on your hands? what do you think, the mgw ltd would make the new one so you would miss 2-3!
No, I don't think that, but since I've heard it uses no centering springs as the old one did, I still feel it was a valid question before I put my money into it.
Too much time on your own hands, flaming my valid post?

the oem has no springs, the springs were overkill since trans does the centering to 3rd and 4th. people miss 3rd becasue they "try" to hit it. from 2nd, you just palm the shifter and press straight up, it will find 3rd every time.

If you follow this method you will never, ever, miss 3rd gear again, even with the factory shifter.
