Default Which Mask Do you Like

This would be for my 09 C-6

In the latest Mid America Catalog ..(Celebrating 35Years) .. Page 10 under Corvette front Maskes''' they have Mask # 622-884 (Reg 149.95) 0n sale for $99.95. On Page # 11 they have the geuine "GM" mask for $139.99.

After reading the instructions for both on line... the $99.00 job Says" To stuff the tab that holds the mask near the head light into the head light bezal seam with the plastic tool included......

The "GM" version has a Clip that slips into the seam between the bezel and body ...the directions say..."Do not allow the seal to be pressed into the gap.. A thin plastic shim may be used to posision the seal ASIDE prior to inserting the tab.

My piont being that the non GM wants you to force a tab down into the seam the GM version says ...Fark No...We use a Tab...just move the seal aside till you insert the clip.

Me thinks I like the "GM" job...

Have you guys had any experience with either one of these tye of Bra's..

I have the mid america version. When I first got it, I was a little nervous shoving the tab in there, and was worried about damaging the rubber gasket/flap/whatever that lines the light. But believe it or not it slipped in with no problem. OK the first time was tough but after that it is pretty easy.

Also one of the clips sewn on came off - the tension was pretty severe when the mask has never been stretched. I got some really strong thread and sewed it back on - no problems since.

Once this thing is on it doesn't move around, very snug fit. I like it.

Cool... Glad you worked that out.. It's been my thing to stick with the GM aftermarket items as they usually fit and work the way their designed too.

I've had other aftermarket stuff and learned my lesson. So now.. I try and buy GM only stuff. That same GM Mask that Mid America sells for $139.95 can be had from GM accessories on Line for $115.00

So you gotta shop around. I find that the GM stuff fits and works the way GM intended...Just My $.02 worth
