Default Headers?

I have an '07 coupe and want to put on a set of headers and hi-flo cats. What is the best way to go for the least amount of $. I noticed Corvette Guys have a set of stainless headers from SLP for $749.00 Any thoughts? I already have a great cat-back system.

There are several well respected brands...LG Pro Long tube headers, Kooks and American Racing headers are among the best. For my money I wanted LG Pro long tube headers. Not that price is always indicative of quality but in general I feel you're better off going with the best.

I have some great specials on Kooks and Stainless Works Headers. They are made from 304 stainless steel and have excellent fitment. Feel free to give me a call if you have any questions.

That may not include an X-pipe which is needed.

ARH here and love them. Good stainless headers w/ cats should run you 1500-2100 depending on the brand and sale. I think the majority of people here with headers use LG or ARH just because they often have great sales and are a really easy bolt on header that you can install in your driveway. Watch out for cheap headers. You may feel you got a deal initially but when install time comes you may have 1000 headaches. SLP are pretty well known so they shouldn't have a problem. I know SLP's on a F-body extend way to far down and hit on the smallest bump in the road but since the C6 header is totally different my guess is this should not be an issue.

auction site.

I put them on last weekend, but just drove it for the first time today. I have HPTuners but I haven't tuned it yet. Horsepower gains should be on par with Kooks headers.

What are they chinese copy's? They are not near the same as Kook's,
tubing is lower grade and workmanship/quality is not the same. Kook's are going to deliver better power also. Not saying they might not work but you get what you pay for and Kook's
is fantastic quality along with ARH! I have ARH now but my old Kook's are on another members car. They were a well made header!
My two cents!

Wait! Dont leave us yet! I want to see a close-up pic of the (open end) collector on your Chinese headers! I bet there is no spike (and perhaps no merge either) in the collector. They sure do look shiny though-did they come Jet-Hot coated for 4 bills too?

I have LG street headers, no complaints, they look and fit great...they don't have the merge collector, so they are cheaper than the pro version...

Merge collectors, I see this more often than I see it over a the chevelles and camaro forums...I guess some to do with the "exotic" parts that some corvette owners have to have yes yes I'm poking a little...

hey before knocking off the "knock offs" (pun intended) maybe some testing ought to be done: how do they fit? how is the finish lasting? how's the rwhp (my guess on the hp is good as any "none merged" headers out there).

how cheap do you think they are? cheaper than the $99 advance auto long tubes for 1 st gen camaros? my gf has run those on her 1 st gen for 5 years, and it was a daily driver, they were not coated...they lasted just fine...there's something to be said about $99 headers that don't fall apart ya know!

I put kooks 1 3/4 on they are great fit great and the horsepower is pretty good also on my 08 before the tune with headers hi flow cats and b&B fusion's and vararam it was 415hp-390 torque after his tune it went to 418 hp 416 torque but he didn't mess with the timing at all just leaning it out and adjusting the fans pretty much

Bring on the haters!!

Yep, its got the same spike in it and the best I could tell, it is about 4" long. They are T304 stainless, no coatings. A 9/16" flange (not 3/8").

I pulled in my garage and looked at the clock. It was 4:58. I took off the fuel rail covers, removed the spark plugs, jacked the car up (on jackstands, no lift), removed the entire stock exhaust, except for the catback which is Corsa sports, and had both sides of the headers on and bolted up at 6:10, an hour and 12 minutes.

My apologies! I stand corrected! Nice pics and you come prepared! Besides, anyone with Corsa Sports is OK in my book! I'll buy you an egg roll to celebrate Chinese New Year.

Oh, how much extra for the chinese side dish hi-flo cats? Or you going without them?
