After LOTS of modifing, the system works perfect. I also was able to call the seller from TX and get him to refund my $50 of the $400 shipped I spent because the X had to be modified to fit at my expense.

On a side note, the seller was a fairly young kid(dick). He did verify that the cheap headers are indeed made in china. Also, after the sale when I called him about the X pipe problem, he got very $hitty with me and hung up on me claiming I was trying to nickel and dime him by asking for some money back to cover the cost of making his kit work AS ADVERTISED.
Brian
You and I conversed via e-mail about these headers before you bought them. I explained the problems that you would have. So, you knew going in that the X-pipe would have to be modified, yet you still called the guy and complained and demanded your money back! Then, you come on a public forum and call him a dick and an a$$hat, when you got exactly what you were told you would get, plus your money back.

Maybe you shouldn't be calling people names.

Default The right headers

Question is, how much are you willing to pay what size and what are you expecting. Yes not all headers are the same, fit, style, size, coated vs not coated vs stainless or steel. When I shoped for headers I looked for best fit and proper size 1" 7/8 . I also choose plain stainless. So many forum readers will argue about ceramic coated vs plain stainless and that they do allow more heat to escape because of not being coating. Well let me say bullsh$#@!t, My race car( late model sportman) with coated headers ran FAR more hotter exhaust gas temp than just plain stainless steel headers. I can show documented proof for the non believers and those who follow only what is written as everyones opinion on this page. Those who dont race or do not turn a wrench or have no clue other than to prop what they bought I understand. Let me put it like this, just because you own a vette doesnt mean you have all the knowledge or the fastest car on the planet. Yes you are miles and I say many above any fool who buys a mustange and thinks he is so bad you should never blink. i do say this read from these comments and base your purchase on fittment, besides as most of the older crew here remember when putting headers on ther own first second or third hot rod, how many times they had to replace blown out gaskets because of uneven header flanges. So go out and get your American, LG, SSt, Rosemont, Dynamaxx, and those others that have worked very well for others and you will be just fine.

And P.S. you do not need to have a tune right after, to make them work. You may need a tuner if you start throwing rear o2 codes, in this case have a tunner shut them off.

Best Regards,

They are a golden color now since running the car. And this setup is only for this year. I would have had my tuner correct the engine light, but the stock cats were all degraded and clogged and needed to be removed. Trust me, I saw them first hand when I took them off. But for the money, they were worth it. Im going real catted kooks 1 7/8 headers next fall. Im going in for a tune any day now, so I will let you all know if the chinese headers can do better than the 548rwhp and 481rwtq that the car made with just the catback and blower.
I understand.
trust me you'll be making more power, it is just the inherent design of long tube headers that allow the extra hp. Now, if you're the type of guy that is looking for every drop, then of cours those aren't going to do it...nor your classic headman or hookers on an early muscle car would...this is were merged collectors and what not come in play...I think that's prety useless for a street car, but, that's just my opinion...and with early muscle cars, when you have up to 582ci availalbe without fitment problems, merged collectors and the extar 15 hp the give seem sooo little when you can have 850-900 hp with your traditional, 400$ hookers... which is probably why no one runs anything as fancy as headers available for late models ... (I'm assuming here of course)
of course, we have less cubes so everything you can do to help matters...to some...

You could put a C6 ZO6 exhaust system on for half the price and get good gains as well. If you have smog requirements where you live, and have a visual test, this will pass.

OK, now pay attention and I'll walk you through this.

Do you remember looking at the feedback of the seller for someone who had already purchased a set of these and then e-mailing that guy through eBay (350Samurai@comcast.net)?

.....I'll assume you said yes.

Do you remember him telling you in detail, the problems you would have with these headers?

........I'll assume yes to this also.

Now, do you remember him telling you about this thread on Corvette Forum and that there was some good reading about the headers you were about to purchase to help you make a decision?

........Surely yes, again.

Do you also remember him telling you that he had posted some pictures and comments starting with post #7.

........Light bulb coming on?

And, do you remember e-mailing him again the day that you bought the headers and you were all excited and you would be back in touch as soon as they arrived?

..........Um, well, yeah.....

I gave you my e-mail address then (2000C-5@comcast.net) in case you had any questions during the install. The reason I didn't reply to the one e-mail that you sent to this address before you installed them, was because you asked the same questions that I had already answered and since I assumed that you had figured out who I was by that time, that maybe you were e-mailing several people and had just made a mistake. Actually you did send me two e-mails. The second one said not to use your return e-mail which was jackanus12@gmail.com. I guess you already know.

Oh, and I received lots of PMs about these headers, but none from you.

Looks like the chinese headers were good for 30rwhp and 30rwtq. I went from 540rwhp to 570rwhp and from 480rwtq to 510rwhp on the same dynojet from the last tune. 30 at the wheels sounds great to me. Im waiting for the tuner to email me the dyno chart, but they headers worked great.
