Get Michelin PS2 ZPs ("zero-pressure", a.k.a. run-flats). These tires come stock on the ZR1 and are available in Coupe sizes. They perform better than Supercars (much better in rain), and they last longer, too.

While you're at it, have the car aligned at Roger Kraus Racing in Castro Valley. They specialize in setting up Corvettes.

I'm guessing you've got a lot of relaxed highway miles. I only got 15,000 out of my OEM Goodyears with my driving. Firestone's seem to be wearing much better.
Another vote for the Firestone Wide Oval Runflats. These are great tires, stick well, harder compound than the Supercars but that will be beneficial for increased mileage. They are also quieter, and provide a smoother ride than the Supercars.

I have Nitto Invo's and they are great. They hook great and are very quiet on the road.

Get yourself a winter beater! If you can't afford that and the Grand Sport. FORGET THE GRAND SPORT! Really PO"S me! IMO
The winter tire's cost as much as a winter beater! For those BAD weather days. A person with a new Grand sport or any Corvette in my mind. Who takes it out, when the roads are full of ice and snow
needs their head examined. Plus looks like an IDIOT!

If I were buying tires today, I would go with the Bridgestone RE-11s. They come in stock C6 sizes.

Default Firestone Wide Ovals

I listened to everyone's advice and had a set of Firestone Wide Ovals put on my 08 C-6 two months ago.....they're perfect! What an improvement over the OEM Goodyears. Many thanks to all who took the time to offer their opinions. I do appreciate it.

Also, I can recommend the Tire Rack people very highly! Supersonic shipping and excellent service. Had them installed, balanced and aligned at Michael & Co. in San Jose...these folks are the BEST! Very reasonable rates. THey have all of my future business.

Best,
Corvetteflyer

If you are not stuck on the runflats, BFG KDW's are a super tires for the track and the street. These will give you much better traction over the the GY runflats. The tires are very reasonably priced and hold up great, not to mention one of the coolest tread patterns out there. I have run these for a while now on my 05 and will put another set on as soon as the existing ones are worn out. I do carrying a tire patch kit and 12 volt compressor in the storage compartments as a back up. Worth taking a look at......

Firestone Wide Oval have been on the car, 2008, for 11,000 miles and some of this was hard driving but most daily work. When driven hard they worked good on fast cornering and hard accelerations. may try the PS2 next time but happy with Firestone to date.

I do not drive in the snow and ice, however, for about 1/3 of the year the temps are below 40 degrees. Most of the time, the sky is clear and the streets are dry. Hence, I have need for the SottoZeros.
