Default Connectors in door

I am trying to connect a new door on my -06 Corvette. I am unable to find the connector in the middle (2-wire) of the picture below, does anyone know what this is for?

By the way, where should i post my project? Is there a section of the forum especially for project cars?

I think you're in a good part of the forum for posting about your project - either here in the Tech section, or the General section. If it's a race/track car, you could post in the Autox/Roadrace section.

As far as the connector - I dunno!

You say you have a 2006, but what year did the door come from???

Does your car have XM??? In the 2006 and newer cars, the XM antenna is in the side mirror. If you got a door off a 2005 C6, the XM antenna was on the roof (halo) and you won't find an XM connector in the door if it's from a 2005. Or, if the door came off a car that didn't have XM then that connector probably won't be there.

Also, if your car has side airbags, the impact sensor is in the door back near the door handle. If you got a door off of a car that doesn't have side airbags, then there won't be a connector for the side airbag.

If your car has the memory buttons and the door you got came from a lower trim level car that didn't have the memory feature, that door would probably be missing a connector for that wiring.

That yellow female connector is for the antenna wire for the XM radio. It goes up to the outside mirror.

Thanks a bunch!
Is there an antenna in both mirrors?

I´ll post a project thread in the general section.

Yes.

Info in the Service Manual indicates that the antenna in the passenger mirror is for receiving the satellite signal, and the one in the driver's side is for receiving the signal from a terrestrial signal repeater.

Doh! I have bought a mirror without the antenna in the driver side mirror...

Does this mean that the regular FM radio will not have an antenna then?

No problem with FM - the AM and FM antennas are in the rear fascia.

My '07 has side airbags but they are in the seats themselves...not in the door. Why would a connector for them be in the door if I may ask?
