I know there is another thread about shaving weight out there, but for what it's worth, I got these weights when I replaced my battery and driver's side seat. 2005 3LT Z51 6sp manual
I went with the cheaper, non-carbon fiber model. It is the Spec B2015 No Weight battery. The 1st one I installed went dead after sitting for 5 days, but braille was great about getting a new one shipped out and this one has been fine. It is not for winter use and can't be left hooked up over the winter as it will drain. But as long as you drive your car a few times a week it is a great and easy way to save weight. It is more expensive than a standard replacement, but losing weight costs money. I used a generic battery mounting kit from autozone with 2 j-hooks, a rubber belt (flexible, but kinda stiff), and 2 wing nuts. This battery is a lot smaller than stock so I used my saw-zaw (spelling?) to cut off about 3 inches of the J-hooks, put 2 new bend in in, I drilled 2 holes in the battery holding tray (it's plastic), passed the j-hooks through the holes and tightened the battery down. Holds it in there very well.
That's the plan, but wanted to make sure of the fit and function before buying 2 seats/brackets/etc... Ingress/egress is a lot more difficult, but it feels like I am in a race car now. Gotta have my wife's rear test fitted for passenger side. Probably just going to go with a little wider fit and less aggressive side boolstering... Looks cool now
