When I go to install my new transmission cooler I think I may relocate the battery while I am at it

Nice writeup. I have just one comment, which is that the cubby fiberglas is not unsupported - there is actually a large stamped steel L- bracket that is welded to the frame and runs halfway across the cubby. More than strong enough for the battery.

I have a question though: on my 05, the pass. cubby has a bump in it that made it impossible to get the battery in there, so i had to use the left cubby (dropped right in). Is this not the case on 06 and newer (I am assuming the cubby was redesigned for the Z06)? Thanks.

.
Thanks guys,

Unfortunately the L bracket doesn't run 1/2 way beneath the cubby. It only supports about 3 inches of it. In order to get it to truly support those 3 inches, it could be modified a little because of the small gap between the bracket & the cubby. I glued a thin piece of plastic in between them. It's better then nothing.

I will take some pics this week & post them

So you did not have to modify your pass side cubby...battery dropped right in?

Fits great. The D34 has lots of power. Just figuring out a tie down is a bit tight. I used a universal "I" shaped top bracket with 2, 1/4" rods & ran them thru the cubby floor & bolted them from beneath.
