Default Will a 2002 ZO6 DIFF WORK IN A 2005 C6

Can someone out there let me know if it is possible to swap the diff out of my 2005 with the diff from a 2002 ZO6, because everything been hearing is how weak the diff housing is on the 2005 vette, any input will be great.

Nope, the cases between the two generations are totally different. The C5 case has a single rear mount, the C6 has two mounts, one on each side.

I will say yes. Im pretty sure there is a mod you can do to make it fit. I know for a fact spin has a c5 diff in his 2005 c6. You may want to contact him and ask him about the details.

I've heard of many guys doing this swap but don't really have any facts to back it. I know it's been talked about here in the forum.

Let us know what you find out.

Cartek Performance Engineering had been doing that very conversion since late 2004, feel free to contact them as well at 908-317-4496.

Yep. Just installed a c5 rear in my 2005 c6. Cartek makes a bracket to mount the rear and they send you a plate that you need to weld to your rear cradle.

And it will be much stronger than you current 2005 rear. If you're going to do the swap, be sure to install a hardened shaft as well.
