Default Springtime!

I'm swapping out my base front spring for a z-51. I didn't see the sense
in changing out the rear since the base is slightly stiffer and the values are close. I have z-51 shocks and sways already and it seems I need more spring in the front. Esp when carrying 2 people.
Anyone else hate putting any one over 200 in the passenger seat?

You don't think it has anything to do with a blower hanging off the front of the engine do you??

The front Z-51 spring rate is 526lbs. The Z06 front spring rate is 531lbs. With a supercharger and an intercooler so far forward, I would have gone with the Z06 front springs. They're only 6lbs stiffer.

Recently, I was fortunate enough to have a 240 lb friend ride with me as a passenger in two twenty minute runs @ Thunderhill Park. Guess I can say I'm glad I was driving an '08 C6 rather than a Miata. Even with this extra weight, I still can say our cars don't need any additional power. Main reason for this thread is to give credit to the great suspension our car has. I really do not think the F55 system is receiving the credit that it is due. It is no surprise the ZR1 has been designed to have this. The only upgrade I have included is to swap out the factory installed anti sway bars to the Pfadt sways. There is no need to mess with my springs. More of you should see how the F55 adjusts to the unlimited variations found on a tracks corners.

But I heard you end up a 1/2 inch lower! Just what I didn't want!

You "heard"? The Z06 sits lower than the Z51, but not because of the spring rate, especially when the spring rates are stiffer on the Z06. Research twice (or more) purchase once.

I read here it sits lower from the spring itself not the rate. Plus "only" 6 pounds
difference. I decided I better do both front and rear as bilstein lists part numbers. 2 for the base car and 2 for z-51's. I'll stay with the z-51 springs and matching bilsteins. The z-51 shocks are not too impressive
