I have owned mt first vette for two days and I am already mod crazy..what first ? exhaust seems like the best choice..it's a 2005 c6 with the magnetic ride ,two roofs and its a wild red color with polished rims. I am so in love. 6 sp takes some getting used to.
FAST stands for Fuel, Air, Spark, Technology..The company that makes the intake manifold..Not to be confused with the AIS, Air Intake System, sometimes referred to as CAI. Lingeinfielder is a good CAI..You want the coldest air to enter the engine because the computer will start pulling timing when the IAT hits 86degrees.
If you search for Spinfast, you will get tons of information. The FAST manifold has to be modified to fit the C6, (or you can cut your firewall).
Headers, just do a search..The brand is not so important, but you will want to get a longtube variety.
Congrats on the car..Welcome to the perma-grin society..And I do not think there is a cure for mod fever..Once you get it you will know because the wallet will be thin forever...
The previous owner had installed some Corsa Sports and I really enjoy the sound and the burble. You may want to consider a new MGW shifter....made my car a lot more fun and easier to shift. Also, I had a lot of concern about slipping on the OEM clutch and brake pedals with wet shoes....a set of pedals from CCW fixed that! To improve the appearance of the interior, you can't go wrong with a new console....I did the CF look.
Have fun....I haven't had this much fun "puttering" with a car since my first car, a 69 GTO.
Step 1: Headers, full exhaust, CAI
Step 2: Cam, Fast 92, tune
Step 3: Repair/upgrade the rear end
Good suggestions overall but I question the need to "repair/upgrade" the rear end. If it ain't broke there's nothing to repair. The rear end may be a weak link for serious, off-the-line drag racing but it's not a necessity for more normal street driving or even for road racing. I don't do hard off-the-line drops but I run road courses a lot...my OEM 2005 rear end has held-up just fine

The Lingenfelter high flow intake is an excellent product (I use it myself). As with any true, bottom-feeding cold air intake take extreme caution not to plow through any deep standing water. You don't want to ingest water and hydro-lock your engine. My LPE intake handles heavy rainfall just fine but avoid fording any streams.
The Bullet exhaust wouldn't have been my choice for an exhaust but they're widely liked by others. There are several decent brands of headers (LG, Kook's, American Racing). For my money I had to have LG Pro long tube headers and I also recommend you have them coated. You may find cheaper headers but you won't find better headers IMHO. Good luck and have a blast modding your car!
My first mod was the MGW shifter. Still one of the best mods I have done. Most people will suggest speed enhancing items. Well, what good is more speed if you can't get it to the ground because you keep missing 3rd gear? Once I did the MGW I did CAI, T-Stat, Headers, T-Body, then tune.
