Had my clutch replaced last week and noticed some fluid coming from the drivers side of the diff. Its like a build up and dirt all sticking to it so not really sure where it coming from. Tech said he thinks its the axle boot on the drivers side as he thinks there is a small tear in it. I didnt see it so Im not sure. Also he said it has been slung on the top under the car above that boot.
You guys think it the axle boot or something else?
It could be the vent. It happened to mine after a long high speed (for me) trip in hot weather. It's the round nickle size cover on the drivers side. I cleaned mine off and in over two years it has not returned.

Circle it for me in microsoft paint and repost pic please.
I think mine is the Axle seal leaking not the boot. but im hoping it is the overflow i cant find anything that leaks fluid while i was under the car yesterday.
I have the same issue with mine. On the passenger side though. A shop noticed it when they had my car up on the hoist. Their thought was that it was the axle seal.
I have an aftermarket diff in my car. If it is the axle seal would the diff most likely be the culprit or the install of the diff?

Mine had the same problem.. Turned out to be the passenger side axle seal... Then when we were looking at it we found out that the transmission input shaft was leaking too... That added $700 to my first clutch swap. I had a hardened output shaft installed while having those two things done.
