Default ls2/ls3 oilpan are they the same?

Hey guys -

I threw a rod out the side of the block and I cracked the oil pan all the way around. I saw a deal on a LS3 (2009) oil pan, but not sure if the 09 is compatible with my 05 LS2. Anyone know if the oil pan is interchangeable between 2009 and 2005?

How did this happen with you guys? Did you push the LS-2 to the limits? No problems with that here.

If you road race the car at all you might consider GM's new batwing pan for the LS3 or a dry sump system. See the recent great thread on oil pressure drops during sustained (> 4 sec) left hand turns.
