So the Z06 and standard trannys have the same gear ratios but the Z51 is different? What's the advantage to the different gear ratios in the Z51 "performance" package? I would think it they would match to the Z06 specs but I'm sure someone else knows the answer. My 07 Z51 coupe definately doesn't pull as hard from a dig as my 01 Z06 but it is a much more refined feel.
The MZ6 is closer to the MN12 of the C5 ZO6. 1st to 4th the same and slight 5th and 6th gear difference. The C5Z weighs a lot less than the C6 Coupe. Less weight, easier to get moving. Is your 01 stock? I would think the Ls2 would be a dead even match with a 385hp C5Z. The Z51 has autocross guys in mind, where on a short course 1st and 2nd are primary used.

Only if the M12 is being installed on a 2005. 2006 and up have different tailshaft housing and will not work unless the tailshaft housing is replaced addition to additional modifications.

Since my C6 is in fact a 2005, are there any modifications that would have to be made, or it literally becomes a no-brainer swap?
