Scratch that, maybe you shouldn't drive promptly anywhere, lol....but seriously, check your brake fluid level and then take it in before it gets worse.
1) Vacuum drops when you accelerate.
2) Your power brakes use engine vacuum to provide the assist.
3) There's a check valve at the power brake booster that prevents a loss of vacuum when you accelerate. (It also allows about three pumps of the brake pedal after the engine has been shut off so you can safely bring the car to a stop if the engine quits.)
I think you can see where this is leading to...I would suspect the check valve has failed. If not, the power brake booster would be my next guess but that would have to be a large leak and I would think your engine wouldn't idle too well with all of that air bypassing the MAF.
