I don't own a C6 Corvette and didn't embrace the headlight change that came with the C6 design. My main reason was because with these style of headlights the UV coating always seems to peel off. And once that happens then the plastic lens cover will eventually turn yellow and get brittle. I have owned two other cars where the headlights peeled on me already, a 2001 Honda and 2007 Toyota. Once this happens then the headlight are very expensive to replace. I think all manufactures use the same enclosed headlight plastic material, Polycarbonate with the UV coating.
So I guess I am just curious as to how wide spread the problem is, if there is a problem.
I have a 2005 and live in Arizona with relentless sunshine and high heat...no problems with my headlights at all.
It's a matter of opinion (and I know traditionalists prefer them) but I never liked the pop-up head lamps. They possessed needless mechanical complexity; they were aerodynamically unsound; and, IMO not pleasing aesthetically. Most importantly, the 'new' style headlamps far outperform the old pop-up's.

I totally understand what you are saying but as I said, I have already had several vehicles with this headlight design where they peeled. I hope the Corvette never experiences the peeling issue because outside of warranty these things cost over $200 each.
The only problem I've read about with these headlight covers is when people put a plastic film over them for protection from rock chips. The film doesn't allow the heat to dissipate when the lights are on. The lens then develops tiny cracks.

Where do you shop for your lights? A C6 light costs over $800.....each!
