I do not see any reviews at Tire Rack on the Firestone run flats. I'm looking in the wrong place maybe?

Im curious what the power levels and driving styles are like for the guys that think the fireststone RFLTs are better. That tire is a UTOG of 320 and the Goodyears are 220. I seriously doubt if tested they are better in any category other than price but I didnt try them myself so I cant comment. I have my doubts. It should make for a great drifting tire for 700HP guys.

Positives are the 10/32 thread thickness and it looks good too.

I'll use the Hummer for road trips.

If you stay with runflats, the concensus is:

Supercars perform well in the dry but not so well in rain. Hard & noisy, short life.

Firestones are cheaper, last longer than Supercars, ride well and perform well in the rain. But not as grippy on dry roads.

Michelin PS2 ZP probably are better than Supercars in dry and wet, ride a little better, cost more. Not enough user miles to know if they last longer than Supercars.

Do the Goodyear F1 Super Car or Michelins have more corning grip the track? I don't know and will let others comment. I don't track my car and my driving style is more straight line than corners so I can not comment on their ultimate corning ability against other tires.

In my case, at 14,000 miles the OEM Goodyear F1 Super Car rear tires were down to the wear indicators and traction was poor. My car would get sideways in 1st, 2nd, and 3rd gear. I also wanted to keep the run-flat feature but Michelin had not releases their PS2 run-flats. Remember the Goodyears have 9/32nd of tread depth vs. 10/32nd for the Wide Ovals.

I simply could not bring myself to buy another set all things considered. From what others have said on the forum, 14,000 miles is the norm. This is unacceptable in my opinion. On the Tire Rack website, the vast majority of the reviews were positive. Others have commented positively on the Firestone performance tires on their C4s.

I now have 8,000 miles on the Wide Ovals over the last 17 months and I am 100% satisfied. Will they outperform all the other run-flats available for the C6? I don't know. The only time I went to the drag strip, it did 2.1 sec 60' times on 3 passes. Not fantastic but not bad either for a street tire.

From my experience, the Wide Ovals have better traction than the Goodyear F1 SC tires with 12-14,000 miles, are very quiet and look good. They appear to wear better, too. I would not hesitate to buy them again.

My car has dyno'd at 428rwhp on a 100+ degree Texas day. If you have 600+ rwhp, perhaps super soft track tires or drag radials should be seriously considered but I don't recall they are available in run-flat construction.

Just giving my opinion and personal experience.

Seems like most agree the Wide Ovals get a lot better treadlife than the SuperCars, more than twice as many miles in some cases. But I've heard it both ways about stickiness and grip. I don't see how the cheaper, longer lasting Wide Ovals can also outperform the Supercars though.

Is it true that non-runflats save you 20+ pounds? That's a lot for unsprung weight. Which non-RF's are people using that can last more than 25k miles?
