New temporary personal best for RGSTOY – 10.558@133.504MPH
I used “temporary” because I’m hoping to improve on that time at the Test & Tune session this Friday night.
I completed the major mechanical work on the “cloning project” of my friend Ron’s car this weekend (with the installation of the Lucifer cam) and made it to the track at Infineon on Monday but because of a persistent 2-3 shifting problem (it hit the rev-limiter on all 5 passes that day) my best time was only a 10.632@125MPH.
I managed to solve the shifting issues as the transmission behaved flawlessly on all 10 passes, but because Sacramento doesn’t prep the track on Wednesday nights I ended up spinning quite a bit on my final run but still managed a very respectable 10.558. I’m hoping to get into the 10.3’s on Friday and will be sure to post up those results if I make it.
My final timeslip is shown below along with the one just prior to that in which I had to let off just past the 1/8th mile in order to stay about 11.5 seconds (a Wednesday night rule at Sacramento) but as you can see it was actually quicker than the 10.558 so I’m hoping that with better track prep hitting my target on Friday will be very doable.
Here's the list of mods to the car:

Yeah, I was bummed that I spun so much but I'm sure it'll be a moot point after tomorrow night.
