Not a problem, I have done cam and head packages, Twin Turbos, Blowers on cars from 750 miles up to 100k+. As long as the car has been cared for it is not an issue. I always worry a bit when the come in with high milage on them and ask for a supercharger or a turbo kit. The highest milage car I installed a STS rear mount turbo system was a 01 C5 with 100k+ on the engine, the guy still owns it and still flogs it on a regular schedule without any issues.

Well I know you are well respected here on CF and I had the same in mind .I have a 6speed mn6. I would like to get Headers, pulley, fast, ported, and a tune and a cam. What rwhp is the range for this setup? What about cost range ,not holding you to it.

Headers, CAI, and Tuning is a good first start. Wait until you change the Camshaft to do the UD Pulley. Do the FAST 92 Intake after the Camshaft. Porting your Throttle Body will give you a nice increase in throttle response. Long Tube Headers will be $900+ and you'll also need a matching X-Pipe $475+. If you have any questions about which route to take, feel free to give me a call.

I have those mods on my 05 LS2 m6 with 64,000 miles. I still have stock heads and my rwhp is 462 thru 4.10 gears. The hp is a little higher than average for those mods.

As for bolt on mods, headers and a cold air intake are good places to start.
I would likely stay away from the Maggie but the ProCharger system is top notch.
And yes, you can compliment the supercharger with a blower cam or even keep the stock cam and still make decent power.

Clearly the best in the Northeast (entire U.S.?).
Here's a little eye candy to show just a sampling of what they can do.

these LS motors are good for 100k+ miles if you take care of them. I put heads/cam/headers on a 98 TA with 120,000 miles and had no problems. at the same time I put similar heads/cam/headers on my 2001 TA with 30K miles and put a hole in the number 7 piston because of a bad tune. If I had 7K to spend I would get a nice 224/228 or a little larger cam if you still want drivablility, a set of long tubes, pullies and a nice set of heads. Not sure if you can stay under 7k with corvette tax but I know on a TA you can get a good set of heads for 2-2.5k, 500-600 for a set of long tubes, cam and valve train for around 1-1.5k and then install and tune.

I do like the road course more then 1/4 mile. So a procherger is ok or not. I like the idea of headers, cai, fast, ported tb and pulley and cam.
Rough idea of cost and rwhp. Someone give me a guess.

I would love a procharger but would think it would be more suited for top speed/1/4 mile that a maggie. just my guess since I do not know other than what I read, the maggie would give better lower rpm response than the procharger and my guess is a maggie might be better at a road course. but you would have to control all that low end torque. again no actual experience with either just guesses.

Any FI will cause heat issues for your car if you road race it. Short WOT blasts are one thing, continueous WOT runs when road racing for several laps would cause a big problem, I suspect.

Dads toy- How did you end up with the bad tune on your TA? Was it a dyno tune?

The guy who built my engine was a young kid that every one in our local F-Body club went to for tunning/builds. He was "learning" LS1 Edit and I found out later that he ONLY knew how to tune for Wide Open Throttle He did not tune for the rest of the RPM range. Over time I was getting a lot of detonation and by the time I took it back to him he put it on a dyno and my car was down 50+rwhp. Only reason I knew there was something wrong was that the car ran almost .8 seconds slower in the 1/4. Took it to one last race after he was trying to retune it and blew the motor. all of his tunes are done on a dyno. The dyno is just another tool to validate a tune. you can have a really good tuner who can tune without a Dyno.

The loss of 50+rwhp did not register on my BUTT dyno but showed in my time slips. thats why I crack up when people install a cold air intake and picks up 4-5 rwhp and their butt dyno can "FEEL" it. I guess their butts are beter calibrated than mine.

Thank you everyone for your input. Now I will start to see and possibly get a ride in the packaged car of my choice.
Thank you Cartek
