Default C6 Best tire size

What are the best size tires for the rear of a C6? Is it the stock 285/35/19 or more like the Z06 size? Please advise...

It is difficult to fit the Z06 325/30-19 rear without cutting the inner tubs or using offset wheels. You can fit a 305/30-19 (I used Michelin PS2) on the stock rear wheels. The 305 is slightly outside the recommended wheel width for an OEM wheel, but I have done it and it works and fits well inside the stock fenders. A very clean way to do this is to send your wheels to WeldCraft and have them add 1" to the inside of your rear wheels. Everything will fit inside the fenders perfect.

You can also add the 275/35-18 tire to the stock front wheels and it will fit inside the front fenders very nicely.

Do you have any rubbing issues putting 275's on the front on a tight turn? I am wanting 305's for the rear if I can find them for my stock wheels.

There's a chap selling CCW's in the C6 Parts for Sale Section that claims that they will fit Z06 sized tires on a C6 with no problems.

I can tell you from experience that Michelin 275/35-18 tires mounted on OEM C6 wheels do not rub on the front. I even had the wheels widened 1/2" on the inside and they do not rub. My car was only lowered slightly.
Also, 305/30-19 mounted on the rear do not rub as well as 305/30-19 mounted on a 1" widened rear do not rub, but they are very close. You can fit a 315 tire on the OEM rear, but Michelin only made it in the Pilot Sport Cup and they are hard to find.

I didn't find it difficult at all...I've had 325/30R19 autox tires on my car on oem-size (non-Z06) wheels many, many times without issue

You asked for the best tire size and IMO that's the best way to go for street driving. On the street I use CCW SP16A wheels, 9.5” x 18” front - 11” x 19” rear with the Goodyear Eagle F1 Supercar EMT’s...275/35ZR18 front - 325/30ZR19 rear...stock Z06 tires.

"best" means different things to different people...what's the goal?

in some ways, the best is what's already on there...it's paid for and works...if there's something you want the car to do better, what is it?

Pylons and Wayne:

What width are the 325s you guys are running? I'll have LG 19x11 rims on back. Do 325/30 Invos at 12.91" fit?

tread width 12.2", section width 13.6" is the spec on the Hoosiers...but that's measured on a 13" wheel (I run them on oem 10's to be stock class legal)

I'm switching to 315/30's next season because I think the shorter tire will be better

a 325 Invo should mount on an 11 easily

Nitto says they'll fit on the 11" rim, although 11.5 is the recommended size. I'm just wondering if they clear the sheetmetal when you go over a bump. Nitto describes the 12.91" as "overall width" so I assume that is more than tread width??
