My previous auto was a Pontiac Solstice in which I installed a CAI unit. The best part of the mod was the sound that resulted. Without the stock plenum, the engine just sounded better; a little more "sound" is the best way to describe it.
The LS3 has a similar plenum system; likely to reduce engine noise to some acceptible "government" standard. I don't plan to install a CAI on my vette for various reasons.
Here's my question: if I blocked the plenum hole, would there be any negative affects on the engine? I suspect that the "engine noise" that normally gets muffled in the plenum would be there and the airflow to the engine would stay the same. Any comments?

Im guessing your talking about the silencer correct? I took it off both my truck and mach and just put a home made plug in the hole. It won't hurt anything, You may gain 1-3 net hp as well. I noticed a little more intake sound as well, maybe it was just in my head though.
