Default Faulty wheel speed sensor. Need help...

I am about to purchase a C6 that has a passenger side rear wheels speed sensor issue. The seller tells me that the DIC message comes on sometimes when you hit a bump.

I need to know how much this part costs? How hard it is to replace it and if there is any safety issues involved with the malfunction of this item?

Thanks in advance.

Check the plug and wires first. The way they are routed it can rub on the wheel if it is not attached correctly.

If it is the wheel speed sensor, that is a new wheel bearing as well because they are a sealed unit. Replacement is not bad, but does require the corner to be taken apart.

Thank you Sir Are there any safety issues with me driving the car 700 miles home? If it has an issue will I just lose TCS and ABS or can a lockup occur?

So best case scenerio is a short in a wiring and worst case is a hub replacement? Thanks for your help.

No noises coming from the car? You should be ok. Active handling and TC will be effected. ABS should revert to just one front and one rear for speed if memory serves correctly.

TC and AH would probably be in-active if the sensor goes dead.
