My friend has a 2008 ZO6 with 200 miles and wanted to know if anyone has information on any recall that year. The dealer is giving him the run around on his warranty. His car over heats and when he gets into it the transmission will not go into third gearThanks!
Doesn't matter even if there weren't any recalls that year, he is still well within the 5yr, 100k powertrain warranty and with only 200 miles I would assume the car is stock. That being the case the dealer doesn't have a damn leg to stand on and you should tell hm to tell them to quit being retarded and fix the car under warranty.

Your right thats what I've been telling him but they said they need to talk with the manufacturer. He said a friend told him that they resolved the transmission problem on the 2009 ZO6. Thats why he wanted to know if anyone here on the forum ever heard of any other problems besides the one's he has now.....Thanks!
A friend has an '08 ZO6 but no such trouble with his tranny. Your friend needs to talk to someone a little higher up in the food chain if he is getting double talk from the service writer. Try asking to speak with the owner of the dealership or the general manager. Good luck.
Once again who give's a crap about who said/heard what! call the # in the owners manual for GM the dealer will be over to get the car so fast it will make your head spin! the dealers mechanic is probably not vette certified and he's trying to figure out how he can handle the repair and still make$, I had a problem with my 06 tranny the dealer did'nt want his guy "rebuilding" the tranny so he got GM to send him a new 07, don't make these things harder than they are!
There is a TSB for the A/C system that stops cooling and blows hot air in certain stop and go situtations. The solution is to drop the refridgerant pressure 1/2 lb.
There are many reports of over heating in the 08 Z06 if one is running a bra or has any other device that restricts air flow to the rad.
There are also reports of hard shifting or grinding of gears that normally only require an adjustment.

I would suggest that you check to see if the fans are running, measure the water temperature at the surge tank, use a long stem thermometer and place it between the radiator blades. If all seems normal you most likely have a bad, or open, temp sensor. If it is overheating I'd check the t-stat first.
