For what it's worth I don't think you get a guarantee of "no stink" with a cat'd system. My car was virtually odorless when new. When I added headers with high flow cats I picked up some exhaust smell even with a re-tune and correct AFR verified by my wideband o2. When I added the cam the smell increased even more even after another re-tune and the proper 14.7-ish to 1 AFR.
I think the fact is that the aftermarket high flow cats just simply are not as efficient as the OEM stuff and there should be some expectation of increased odor if you change the configuration whether you choose cat'd or cat-less.

I've been catless in my 2008 cammed LS3 for almost a year now - It stinks and sounds great, I wouldn't pay extra for cats....
I don't daily drive mine, I can deal with the smell when I'm just out messing around. I'm going so fast I can't smell it anyway.
