You need a code reader or if you don't have one, I believe most AutoZone stores will check for codes free of charge. There may be other auto parts stores that do this as well but you'd have to call around and check.
I have a 'mid-range' Equus Innova code reader. Not that I've needed it much with the Vette but it does everything I need and then some.

Thanks...
hmmmm no way to do it to display codes in the DIC huh?
SORRY BUD!! GM removed the DTC reading ability from the C6. I researched NUMEROUS DTC readers and found the ACTRON CP 9180 is an EXCELLENT code reader.
It has an engine data log capability which is VERY handy. It will display the LTFT & O2 sensor data. It does an EXCELLENT job on my C6 and Jeeps!
Look in GOOGLE for the BEST price. I got mine for $140

Nope. Several former C5 owners have complained about that.

Well the check engine light went off after 3 start cycles and driving for a few minutes...but I just wanna know what it was....perhaps I will buy the reader mentioned above...
