Default Weak Rear Axles

Well I guess my axles twisted and ended up snapping not too long ago, so I replaced them with some solid C5 z06 rear axles. Anyone know if this is just a one year thing with the 05s that they are hollow or is it all c6s? I think it's the axles that I snapped I don't quite remember exactly what he said. Make sense to anyone?

I don't believe any Corvette axles are hollow. Are you sure about this?

That's what I was told......maybe it's just an 05 thing. I don't see how they would have twisted an snapped in the first place tho. I usually baby the thing.

I believe that all the C5's and C6's have solid axles. I believe they changed the design of the CV joints with the C6 and they turned out to be weaker then the design used in the C5. Changes were made in the C6 CV joint design.

the C5 Z06 axle is better! and is the axle of choice when you break a C6 axle

I just installed the SKF performance bearings and used new nuts with the recommended Loctite to the new TQ spec of, if I remember right, 135 fp.
