PEACE!!
Those are not the same as the ones I had then. I had to use band clamps to hold the two ends together. No surprise, they leaked. The vendor supplied 2 pieces of stainless pipe that fit over both pipes and were meant to be clamped on with supplied band clamps on one end and saddle clamps on the other. The band clamps were the wrong size, and the saddle clamps would not deform the stainless tubing to make a tight connection. A muffler shop could have made it work, but I elected not to do that. I would rather not weld everything together to make taking things apart easier.

Good luck with your setup and enjoy it!

Wallyj, now that you explain your unions.... That is the same joint. However the clamps used were dead-on when it came to sizing. I responded to a PM earlier in the week concerning these headers. When asked what I thought, I told the gentleman that if there was a sketchy side to this system is was that joint that you speak of. Really needs to be re-worked but I understand what they are going after. I will simply weld that joint, but that is no longer a "bolt on" system.

It they were the same headers than you know how good they were constructed.

Concerning Robots VS. Man and the construction of headers. I hope that we all realize how phenominal robots are. How with the exception of 3 or 4 cars in the world, robots build just about everything. Guess where the robots are made? China, Japan, Germany and yes... some are made in the USA. I believe that these particular headers are 90% robot and 10% man. Humans do the final spots on these headers. But lets not kid ourselves. Jesse James isn't the guy welding up all the headers in the corvette world. It's a guy that is subject to flaws just like the rest of us. Robots..... not so much. But yes, robots don't have families, friends and mortgages to pay.

Good luck with your search - original auther of this post. Thanks for keeping it clean guys.

I understand where you are coming from, but I still feel the same. If you can't keep it American then wait. As far as China and buying materials from us, yes that is true because as a country we are idiots. Anyone who like to shoot knows who Georgia Arms is, they used to buy all of the brass from the DOD. Now the DOD sells it to china for less the half of what Georgia Arms bought it for, but before we ship it now we have to pay to shred it. The only thing I can say is that we all as Americans have to make the hard choices now or in 10-15 years you might be serving me a burger at McDonald and I am emptying my pockets of change trying to figure out how to pay for it. I am glad this thread has been clean, I hope that it has drawn some attention and people will think twice about where something is coming from before they buy it.

You know you can just weld in aftermarket cats into the x pipe, right? Magnaflow sells a pair of them for 120 I believe. Any muffler shop can do that.
