Default LPP Headers and X

I just got the stainless headers + catted X from LPP for $750 shipped to my door. I know I was taking a chance on them not being one of the big dawg brand names, but I must say, these things are beautiful! I did not install them myself, as I have friends at a speedshop that do everything for me on lifts.

The fit was really nice. It slid right in (oh baby!). the most time consuming part of the install was taking the stock stuff off. i'm waiting on a tune right now to see what type of numbers i get out of it.

2007 A6
Magnaflow Catback
LPP Headers + catted midpipe
Vortech V2 5psi

EDIT: Sounds sextastic too!

DITTO on these headers..... Fantastic Headers. I'm sure that the guys on this forum hate to hear from us on these headers. But the reality is that they are simply AWESOME! Fit perfectly and look amazing. The quality is extremely high. Got to love those headers out there for double the price.

You dont have to spend 1500 to get a good set of headers. The design and function of a header is pretty simple....which is why so many people with welding knowledge build their own headers for applications.

The link say its a 3x3 Catted X-pipe. That means it doesn't fit my 2.5 Corsa Sports? Also I have just CAI and catback the 1 7/8 won't fit my setup very well.

the x tapers right at the end so it will work with the stock or aftermarket C6 exhaust. that's all I have is a CAI. Works great. There was a post back a week or two ago that did a great comparison between the 3/4 and the 7/8 primaries. What they found was the not only was the 7/8 better for higher hp motors but that they actually gained tq instead of losing it. To change and go to 7/8 wasn't worth the money, but to start with them was the way to go.

Can't post a link cause I got in trouble for talking about the headers by admin. I don't sell them, just thought that it was a great deal. Fully understand though cause the shop that I got them out of isn't a supporting vendor.

Good luck with your search for headers.

I'm sure that Kooks or LG guys would like to tell you different. But when comparing 1 7/8th's headers to 1 7/8ths headers.... the difference in sound will be nothing. Maybe a spectrum analyzer would be able to detect something or some change in sound.

Now if you were to compare 1 7/8th and 1 3/4th primary headers, there will probably be a difference. Or if one were Stainless vs Steel vs Titanium... you'll have a difference in sound based on how the properties of those materials resonate, capture and limit sound waves.

Good luck
