I do know the telescope wheel switch is making a closed circuit though because when I'm entering/exiting the car and the seat is going back/forth I can hit the switch on the column and the seat will stop showing that it has interrupted the circuit.

I haven't looked at the switch closely on mine, but there is a chance that there are multiple contacts/connections on the switch and you have one that's bad. The easiest way to tell would be to see if you can get a pin out on the switch connector. Then you could use a meter to verify if it's working properly or not.

I've just recently started having issues on mine. It works when it wants to, so I'm going to tear into it today and see if I find a loose connection or bad wire.
