Have an inoperative cruise control, 2007 C6. Auto w/ paddle shifter, not Z06. Simply won't engage. Have verified e-brake is off (duh) and fluid level in master cylinder is OK, as noted as a requirement, believe it or not, in owners manual. Any other thoughts?

A friend of mine lost two BCMs thus far in his 2007 C6 A6. Dead cruise control was the symptom of both failures.

First off disconnect the battery ground for 10 minutes or more then reconnect and let the car reboot. This solves many electric gremlins with these cars.
A "mechanic" friend of mine once told me that on some newer cars if the 3rd brake light was not working that the cruise wouldn't either.
He wasn't the most reliable friend (known for BS).
But should be easy enough to check.

That fixed it. Thanks! Better than a dealer trip, to boot. Pun intended. (Why didn't I think of that???)

Remember that you'll need to reset the window indexing.
Close the car door. Raise the window and hold the up switch an extra 3 seconds. Release. Without lowering the window, hold the up switch again for 3 seconds. Release. Done.

Just bought pre owned one owner 2007 convertible with 32,000 miles. Cruise control working fine, then one day did not work.
Disconnecting battery 10 minutes worked! Thanks SO MUCH!
