Default CAI/tuning questions

New to Corvettes (been building Mustangs for a few years ) and was wondering if you can add a CAI without tuning these cars or is a tune mandatory?

2nd question... What is the generally accepted best intake for these cars?

3rd question... Preferred tuner--Predator or SCT?

Sorry if these have been asked a thousand times before.

Here my $.02 but I am learning as well...

1) Yes but will get better results with a tune
2) I personally like the Killer Bee II with the along with the vette air intake system. www.vette-air.com (he can even send you a tune you just need HP Tuners to flash it)
3) HP Tuners software will give you much more functionality than either of these two

Appreciate the insight. I'll give those a close look.

edit: with an intake and tune how much rwhp can these things generally pick up?

Hello Elless,

You can pick up an honest 22 to 30 on the dyno and more on the streets as air rams in.

Thanks,
Carlos

well no a tune is not nessacary but will help alot and the Vararam is the best intake unless you like driveing thru alot of water as it gets air fom the grill area good ram air affect. some people don't like it as they have probelms with the quality of it but I haven't had any problems with mine yet anyway. but that's my .02 lol
