check gas cap
My check gas cap light came on my 06 C6. I did that problem went away for a day. Now the engine light is on. Car runs normal no wierd sounds from the engine. Can anyone give me a idea of what it might be before the dealer charges me $100 for a diagnostic.

I got the Check Gas Cap light twice yesterday. Finally taking the cap completely off and then reinstalling it seems to have worked. In the past 3 years I have gotten the Check Engine light twice due to the gas cap soon after fill-ups. My dealer confirmed such must have been loose and reset the light OFF for me. The service advisor said it would take 50 cycles before the light would turn off by itself. A year later it reset ON again a day after fill-up. I twisted the cap some more and waited for the light to go out by itself. Took 12 start cycles over a period of several days before the light reset to OFF.
