LS series engine question
I'm a C-2 owner with knowledge of Corvette engines up to the early 80's Trying to find out the differences between the newer LS series that are out there today. Anyone know of a good site that has expanations on cubic inches, block /head material and other differences ? Thanks for any help .---------------- Ken McCorry

This is a very good article on the history of LS(x) engines. It's in 2 parts so when you get to the end of part 1 you have to click the link to go to part 2. The whole article is also on Wikipedia.

Thanks Guys, Wow have small blocks changed !!!! I'm considering a replica 63 Grand Sport and was thinking a ZL-1 but now have my mind thinking either a LS-7 or 9. Would be interesting in a 2600 lb car !! Again thanks for the leads. -------Ken McCorry

FI, n2o or n/a ? The LS7 is not the best way to go if your looking at an FI or n2o application and to be honest if you want a 427 there are other a configurations that would be better.
We could build you something to suite your application that would be using forged internals, in your budget and be an actual precision built engine.

LOL, that site can be just as bad as well. Do your research is all I can say. Tech has good info as well, dont get me wrong but it also has a bunch of bs to go along with it.

When I was considering a ZL-1 I was going to go with a Kinsler Cross Ram EFI unit. I know they make a similar unit for the LS series so I would probably stay with that. Car would be mainly a street car with some autocross and track day work. I ran SCCA and IMSA back in the mid seventies and have no desire at my age ( 61 ) to go back to wheel to wheel racing !!! I like the dry sump option that the LS-7 offers as well. -- Ken McCorry
